Balloon Federation of America
The Balloon Federation of America is the national aero club for lighter-than-air craft. This site offers a source for information about 'all things ballooning' on a national level. The site is designed for pilots, crew members and those interested in ballooning. We encourage you to join the BFA, as it offers tremendous value for your ballooning dollar. You can find information about BFA publications, an extensive calendar of events, educational resources, the scoop on gas ballooning, and a list of safety seminars.

Junior Balloonist Program
The Junior Balloonist program is designed to promote safe ballooning, scholastic achievements, and an alternative to drugs and alcohol for everyone between 7 and 18. The Program's motto "Meet a JB and watch the Friendship Grow" encourages Balloonist's everywhere to invite youth to participate in the 'Ballooning Experience'.

World Record Attempts

Savannah Six

Andy Cayton, who set a new duration record (23 hours, 55 minutes, 51 seconds) in an experimental hot air balloon approximately 2 years ago, recently established a new world record (unofficial) for distance in the FAI-AX8 category. Cayton flew non-stop in excess of 1058 miles. For his earlier flight, Cayton received a commendation for his record from the National Aeronautics Administration during a reception at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington.
