Corporate Overview

Aeronautical Enterprises, Inc., also doing business as Balloon Safaris International, is Georgia's oldest hot air balloon company. We are now offering balloon flights in two locations. Our principal operation is located in Lavonia, GA on Lake Hartwell, just 60 minutes northeast of the New Georgia Mall on I-85. Our flights are principally in the Lake Hartwell area, but we also fly by request in the Atlanta Snellville/Stone Mountain vicinity.

Robert Willbanks- President/CEO

Robert has thirty years in the balloon charter business. He has also worked with many organization and companies to produce advertising and promotional events with hot air and gas balloons. His expertise includes creation and repair of cold air and advertising balloons and banners. He has been involved in local, regional and national promotions for a variety of national and international clients. He produced major balloon rallies in the Southeast to include event design, development of brochures and collateral material, sponsorship considerations, as well as coordination of media events and rally activities.

Willbanks was introduced to aviation when he designed, engineered, and constructed a hot air balloon under the FAA Experiemental Aircraft Program. He also constructs cold air advertising inflatable and product replicas. He has been a licensed FAA balloon pilot since 1975, with in excess of 2000 hours of pilot in command time. Robert soloed in a J3 Cub off Briscoe Field in 1976 and has about 90 hours total fixed wing time. An FAA certified hot air balloon technician since 1980, he operates Georgia's oldest and most diverse balloon company, and FAA Certified Repair Station HL4R236M.

Carolyn Hall - Crew Chief

Carolyn has over 25 years of marketing and sales experience with corporations, largely in the technology field. She was responsible for developing, directing and implementing key initiatives in marketing communications, online promotions, product launch and marketing, sales lead generation and public relations/investor relations for companies ranging from hardware and software, to software training, internet development and Web hosting. In this capacity, her duties included: creating the corporation marketing campaign; implementation of programs, including e-marketing, advertising, tradeshows and direct mail campaign; managing both a PR firm and an advertising agency, including creation of the annual report. She also supported the direct sales effort with competitive analysis, case studies, porposal content, positioning statements, magazine articles and white papers. She was also responsible for the design and creation of brochures, product manuals, internal and external newsletters and other sales collateral.

Carolyn first became interested in ballooning over 20 years ago, when she assisted a local commercial pilot in promotional flights. For the past 3 years, Carolyn participated in marketing many ballooning events, including Freedom Weekend Aloft, the Balloon Federation of America National Championships and the Coupe Gordon Bennett International Gas Balloon Competition. She assists in promoting local events for the company, including providing marketing support for the Financial Times balloon from England and the World Record flight attempts by Andy Cayton.

Carolyn holds a music performance degree in piano from Samford University and taught public and private school music and art for 6 years. Her creative talents include watercolor painting, and creative writing. She is the mother of 2 daughters, also artists and ballooning enthusiasts.
